The pro-independence candidates, such as Pere Aragonès and Josep Rull, have asked to stand up to the extreme right and have recalled that they too have been the subject of attacks. Aragonès has affirmed that “the extreme right must always be confronted”, while Rull has regretted that the PSOE did not support independence when it received similar attacks.
The vision of Laia Estrada of the CUP
The candidate of the CUP, Laia Estrada, has described Sánchez’s attitude as “strange” and has recalled that the extreme right went so far as to ask for the illegalization of his party without the PSOE intervening.
