Elrow Town: A Sustainable Festival That Revolutionizes the Music Scene

Elrow Town: A Commitment to Sustainability

Elrow Town, the festival that opens the season, arrives in Madrid with a mission: to be the most sustainable in its history. Thanks to an alliance with Repsol, the event will implement multi-energy solutions to reduce its carbon footprint.

Renewable Fuel: Clean Energy for the Festival

Repsol will provide 100% renewable fuel for the electric generators, the festival’s main energy supply. This measure will prevent the emission of approximately 13.90 tons of CO2, which is equivalent to the amount of CO2 absorbed by more than 1,000 trees during one year.

Solar Charging Stations and Sustainable Mobility

Elrow Town will feature free solar-powered charging stations, allowing attendees to recharge their mobile devices in an environmentally friendly way. In addition, Wible, Repsol’s carsharing company, will provide vehicles for the mobility of production teams, with dedicated charging points.

Circular Economy: Cooking Oil Becomes Fuel

The festival also promotes circularity by reusing cooking oil from food trucks for the production of renewable fuels by Repsol. This initiative reduces waste and contributes to the circular economy.

A Boost for Sustainability at Festivals

The agreement between Repsol and six of the main music promoters in Spain seeks to implement multi-energy solutions in more than 70 events, reducing their carbon footprint. This commitment reflects the growing awareness of the environmental impact of festivals and the need to adopt sustainable practices.

Renewable Fuel: A Significant Emissions Reduction

Repsol estimates to provide 200,000 liters of 100% renewable fuel to the participating festivals, which will avoid the emission of 556 tons of CO2. This reduction is equivalent to 90% of net emissions compared to the mineral fuel traditionally used in these events.

Elrow Town: A Sustainable Festival Model

Elrow Town stands as a role model for festivals seeking to reduce their environmental impact. Their sustainable initiatives, from using renewable fuel to promoting the circular economy, prove that it is possible to enjoy live music without compromising the planet.
