The journalists of the Central Catalonia Region of the College of Journalists of Catalonia have made an important decision
The journalists of the Central Catalonia Region of the College of Journalists of Catalonia have made an important decision. They have decided, through a popular vote, to award the Silver and Banana Awards to two outstanding personalities.
The Silver Award for the spokesperson of the platform No+ Morts in the C-55, Fina Casals
The Silver Award has been granted to Fina Casals, the spokesperson for the No+ Dead platform in the C-55. The collegiate journalists of Central Catalonia have rated very positively his willingness to attend to the media and his tireless fight for the splitting of the C-55. His tribute to the fatalities who lost their lives on this road has also been highlighted.
The Banana Award for Renfe and Adif
On the other hand, the Premi Plàtan has been awarded to Renfe and Adif. Journalists have justified this decision by the lack of adequate communication during the works and the cuts on the R3. Despite this, the good work of Renfe’s head of communication and spokesperson in Catalonia, Antonio Carmona, has been recognized for his willingness to respond to journalists’ requests. It should be remembered that Carmona was the winner of the Silver Award last year.
Delivery of the Batec Awards
The awards will be presented on Friday 22 March as part of the Batec Awards, the annual awards of the Central Catalonia Region of the College of Journalists of Catalonia. In addition to the Silver and Platan Awards, Kílian Sebrià from Iguala will also be recognized with the Trajectoria Award, journalist and political scientist Núria Orriols from Berguéda as Journalist of the Year, and the headlines Regió7, El 9 Nou and La Veu de l’ Anoia with the Award for local journalistic initiative. The event, open to the general public, will take place in the Adoberia Bella building at 7pm.
