Agreement for dual nationality
The Prime Minister of Romania, Marcel Ciolacu, has announced that Romanian citizens residing in Spain will have the opportunity to obtain dual nationality before the end of the year, after meeting with the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, in Bucharest.
Ciolacu mentioned in a message on Facebook that progress has been made in the negotiations on this issue, opening the possibility for more than 600,000 people to benefit from this measure. Travel facilities and political support
Furthermore, Ciolacu has announced that by the end of 2024, Romanians will no longer require visas to travel to the United States, and has expressed confidence in Romania’s entry into the Schengen area. He has highlighted Sánchez’s influence as a defender of socialist interests in the European Union.
Bilateral commitments
Both Sánchez and Ciolacu have highlighted the growth and progress of Spain and Romania, highlighting their commitment to the well-being of workers, the defense of Ukraine and the reindustrialization of the EU. Both leaders have agreed on the importance of promoting the ecological transition and the social pillar in the next European legislature.
