FC Barcelona looks for alternatives to Nico Williams to strengthen the team

The search for a left wing

FC Barcelona is in search of a left winger for Hansi Flick’s project. The German coach is considering several options to strengthen the squad, as the current players are not meeting his expectations. Ferran Torres, Ansu Fati and Raphinha are not seen as viable options, which is why other alternatives are being considered.

Nico Williams ruled out

Although Nico Williams was a main option, the Athletic Club striker appears to be out of Barca’s reach. The Basque entity has set a prohibitively high price to let the player leave, and this has led Barça to look for other options to strengthen the squad.

Pla B: Luis Díaz

Faced with this situation, FC Barcelona has focused on Colombian Luis Díaz as an alternative. The club has started negotiations with the player, who currently plays for Liverpool and has a contract that runs until the summer of 2027. Despite the difficulties, Barça is determined to push this operation forward to strengthen the team for next season

Barça’s interest in Luis Díaz

Local journalist Breinner Arteta Cañizares has reported on Barça’s interest in Luis Díaz. According to a source close to the player, the club is promoting this operation, and this could mark a significant change in the Barça squad.

Waiting for the end of the Copa America

Luis Díaz is currently focused with the Colombian national team at the Copa América, and Barca are willing to wait until the competition ends before taking negotiations forward. Although the player is considered vital to Liverpool, a deal with Barca could change his fate and mark a turning point in the restructuring of the team under Hansi Flick.
