The Juan Carlos Navarro Municipal Sports Center opens 3×3 basketball courts

The Palau Municipal de Sports Juan Carlos Navarro

The Palau Municipal de Sports Juan Carlos Navarro has recently inaugurated two 3×3 basketball courts, which are the first in Spain. These courts are official by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) and have been built with a sports coating on concrete.

Characteristics of the slopes

Each track is 15 meters wide by 11 meters long. These dimensions meet the official FIBA parameters for 3×3 basketball courts. The courts have been designed to provide an optimal experience for the players and to allow the holding of European and world competitions.

Reference in 3×3 basketball

With the construction of these courts, the Palau Municipal d’Esports Juan Carlos Navarro becomes a benchmark in 3×3 basketball in Sant Feliu. In addition, the senior men’s team of Sant Feliu currently occupies the second position in the Spanish ranking.

Support from the City Council and sponsors

The track construction project was drawn up in September and executed in January, ending in February. The work was carried out by CB Santfeliuenc and had the support of the City Council and the Josep Botet Foundation. The total cost of the construction was 20,000 euros, which were subsidized by the sponsors and the club itself.

Name of the tracks

The tracks have been named Agustí Suñer, in honor of the former manager of CB Santfeliuenc. This designation also recognizes the work of all the sports club staff.
