The little ones enjoy the mountain adventure

The Consell Esportiu de l’Alt Empordà organizes a school circuit of mountain races

The little ones in the region are experiencing a new thrill: running through the mountains. Last weekend, the first edition of the Regional Children’s Trail Circuit was kicked off, an initiative organized by the Alt Empordà Sports Council. This circuit consists of four mountain races with distances ranging from 300 meters to 5 kilometers, and is intended for schoolchildren of different ages.

Discovering new environments

The main objective of this circuit is to encourage sport and healthy habits among the youngest, as well as to discover the wonderful natural surroundings of the region. Through this initiative, the Consell Esportiu de l’Alt Empordà wants to promote outdoor sports and make known different types of sports than conventional ones.

Values and personal relationships

In addition to the sporting aspect, this circuit also emphasizes the importance of values and personal relationships. It seeks to foster camaraderie, personal improvement, equality, tolerance and responsibility among participants. Through the races, schoolchildren have the opportunity to connect with other runners in the region and establish new friendships.

Details and registration

The races are open to schoolchildren between 3 and 14 years old, with routes adapted to each age group. To participate, it is necessary to register in advance through the web platform of the Consell Esportiu de l’Alt Empordà. The registration fee is 15 euros and allows you to participate in the four tests of the circuit. There is also the option of registering for a single race, with a cost of 5 euros online or 6 euros in person.

Awards and recognitions

The Alt Empordà Sports Council will organize an awards ceremony at the end of the circuit, which coincides with the Vilajuïga race on June 8. This event will serve to recognize the efforts and achievements of the participants, and celebrate the sportsmanship and enthusiasm they have shown throughout the races.
