Ducati and its Decisions
The recent Mugello Grand Prix saw intense activity for Ducati and its affiliated teams. However, the attention was not limited to them, since all the actors on the grid, including drivers and factories, were expectant before the famous decision of the Borgo Panigale representatives.
Marc Marquez’s signing as Pecco Bagnaia’s teammate at the Bolognese team triggered a series of moves. This fact led to the rapid signing of Jorge Martin by Aprilia, generating a domino effect from which further repercussions are expected.
Uncertainty at Prima Pramac Racing
The final move of Gigi Dall’Igna and his team has generated uncertainty around the continuity of Prima Pramac Racing, the Ducati satellite team par excellence. This situation has caused discomfort in the Casole d’Elsa brand, which is considering the possibility of leaving Ducati to become Yamaha’s satellite team, in search of two additional bikes on the grid.
Fermín Aldeguer and Pramac’s flirtation with Yamaha
After the losses of Martín and Marc Márquez, the Italians have been limited in their options for 2025, leaving only Franco Morbidelli, whose continuity is also in doubt. Given this situation, the possibility of incorporating Fermín Aldeguer, who will make the jump to MotoGP with Ducati, does not convince Pramac.
The team is reportedly no longer ruling out the option of joining Yamaha, which would allow them to become part of the Iwata brand as it seeks to expand its presence on the grid and accelerate the development of its bikes.
Alex Marquez’s situation
If this situation were to materialize, Ducati would be forced to place Fermín Aldeguer and another rider in Gresini, putting Álex Márquez in a compromised position, whose continuity in the team would be at risk. With his contract about to expire and without renewal, the future of ’73’ is uncertain.
Pramac’s flirtation with Yamaha could harm Álex Márquez, since the Italians would have to make room for Aldeguer, leaving Marc Márquez’s brother in a complicated situation regarding any new hiring.
