The club distinguishes between ‘amateurs’ and ‘Valencianistas’

Valencia CF members received a surprise email from the club on Saturday morning. The entity, aware of the demonstration called on March 19 that seeks to empty Mestalla again as a protest against the management of Meriton, sent a letter to its followers guaranteeing ‘security’ at the entrances to the match.

The club, in its statement, differentiates between ‘fans’ – those who have called the demonstration – and ‘Valencianistas’; a new way of dividing the club’s social mass, tired of the situation that has led a century-old club adrift. Valencia CF, after last Thursday’s defeat in Anoeta (1-0), has certified its fifth consecutive year without qualifying for Europe: a significant fact that illustrates the loss of competitiveness of a club that has declined. In fact, in 2014, when Lim bought the majority of the club’s shares, the institution was in eighth place in the FIFA rankings; it has now fallen to 94th place having qualified for European competitions only three times in a decade.

The demonstration to empty Mestalla

The opposition platform to the Singaporean businessman, Peter Lim, Libertad VCF, called for a demonstration to empty Mestalla again, something that already happened two seasons ago on the VCF’s last day at home in Mestalla during a match against Celta. The images from the rooftops near Mestalla, where you could see empty stands, a game in progress and a Swedish Avenue full of people protesting against the property, went around the world.

In the Valencia CF-Girona match this Sunday the same will be attempted. The club, through its email, in addition to differentiating between fans and Valencian fans, something that has not been well received by the fans, tries to convince those who are undecided: if they release their seats and they are sold, they will receive discounts on their next season ticket.

The VCF email to its members

“Good morning. This Sunday (7:00 p.m.) the Valencia CF first team plays its last game of the season at the Camp de Mestalla (Matchday 37) and as you probably know, there is a mobilization of fans called not to enter the stadium .

Valencianista, if your intention is to cheer on the team inside the stadium, we recommend that on this occasion you arrive at the Camp de Mestalla a little earlier and we want to convey to you for your peace of mind that access to the stadium will be like in any other match, so You will be able to enjoy football normally.

Vacant seat

If you cannot attend, the Free Seat is your best ally: if the Club sells the ticket that you release, 40% of its price will be deducted from the price of the season ticket, accumulating discounts on your next renewal of up to 50% of the total price”.
