The struck vehicle was parked next to Carrer del Pobladó
The events took place this Friday night, when a couple who were doing deliveries left their car on the side of Calle del Pobladó, near the Pont de Madrid. The vehicle, an Audi, was well placed between two iron bars and with its emergency lights on. The woman driving got out to make a delivery while her partner waited for her in the passenger seat.
A Land Rover plowed into the Audi from behind
Unexpectedly, another car, a Land Rover, arrived at high speed and crashed violently into the back of the Audi. The noise was so loud that it alerted the woman who was doing the casting. When he returned to his vehicle, he found the dramatic scene and alerted the medical and police services.
The driver of the Land Rover tested positive for alcohol and was arrested
Police officers arrived at the scene and subjected the driver of the Land Rover to a breathalyzer test. The result was scandalous: 2.59 grams of alcohol per liter of blood. This figure exceeds by more than three times the legal limit to drive. For this reason, the driver, a 58-year-old man resident in Andorra, was arrested and taken to court this Saturday at noon.
The passenger of the Audi was injured and taken to hospital
The impact was so strong that the 28-year-old who was in the co-pilot’s seat of the Audi suffered several injuries. Among them, a cervical sprain and several blows to the body. An ambulance picked him up and took him to the hospital for further tests and to rule out major damage. The young man will have to rest for a few days.
