The Orientation and Support Service for Families (SOAF) of Olot is expanded at county level
The Orientation and Support Service for Families (SOAF) in Olot has taken an important decision after a year of its creation: to become a regional service. This decision will allow the service to have a larger scope, beyond the capital of Garrottsina.
According to Maite Marcó, coordinator of Family Relations of the Social Action Consortium of Garrotxa, this extension of the service will allow for more hours and more possibility of face-to-face care throughout the region. This is a big step compared to last year, when this possibility could not be assumed.
An accessible service close to citizens
The Orientation and Support Service for Families (SOAF) in Olot is an easily accessible service for everyone. With a simple whatsapp or a call, you can arrange a visit or a consultation. This accessibility is key for the service to be useful and effective for families in the region.
Service management
Until now, the Family Guidance and Support Service (SOAF) of Olot was managed by the Education and Culture Area of Olot. But now, with its expansion at county level, the service will pass into the hands of the Garrotxa Social Action Consortium. This change will make it possible to scale the service and offer better care to families throughout the county.
Service results and activities
From March to December 2023, the Family Guidance and Support Service (SOAF) in Olot has served a total of 78 families and offered 276 hours of care with 93 visits. The attentions have mainly been related to family coexistence, the resolution of conflict situations with children and the use of screens. The service welcomes cases of families with children between the ages of 1 and 18.
In addition to personalized attention, the Family Guidance and Support Service (SOAF) in Olot has also organized ten workshops during the year, with the participation of more than 400 people. For 2024, a new workshop on the bond and well-being of family life has already been scheduled.
