Full amendment to the budgets of the Generalitat for 2024

Together register the amendment in its entirety

With just a few minutes left until the end of the deadline, Junts registered in Parliament the amendment in its entirety to the budgets of the Generalitat for 2024. This movement has been matured in recent weeks and has finished being defined after the meeting that they held last Thursday with the executive.

Fiscal policies and inheritance tax

The executive has refused to implement fiscal policies such as the elimination of inheritance tax, and this has been one of the reasons why Junts has presented the amendment in its entirety. President Pere Aragonès is now in a complicated situation in the face of the debate on all accounts, which is being held this Wednesday in Parliament.

Uncertainty about budgets

The positioning of the commons is key to the viability of the budgets. If the commons veto the Government’s project, it will not go ahead. With only two days left for the vote, uncertainty remains as to whether the budgets agreed between the executive and the PSC will be approved.

The negotiation with the commons and the Hard Rock

In the control session last week, Junts offered to save the accounts, but put on the table the proposal to subsidize the inheritance tax to 99%. The Government rejected this proposal because it meant a loss of 1,212 euros in revenue. Now, the position of the commons regarding the Hard Rock project is decisive for the viability of the budgets.

The importance of the votes of the commons and ERC

The votes of the commons and ERC are key for Pedro Sánchez’s PSOE to approve the budgets. Although Junts could reject Aragonès’ project, it is possible that they will end up endorsing Sánchez’s numbers. Preparatory negotiations are already underway, and the passage of the amnesty law in Congress will accelerate this process.
