Agents of the Judicial Police Unit of the Command of the Civil Guard of Tarragona
The agents of the Judicial Police Unit of the Command of the Civil Guard of Tarragona, specialists in the fight against drug trafficking, have carried out an operation which has culminated in the arrest of an individual related to drug trafficking in through a suspicious postal package.
Detection and Detention
After several investigations, the agents confirmed the presence of the package in a courier company in the Constantí Industrial Park. Group I of the Organized Crime-Anti-Drug Team of the Judicial Police Unit set up a waiting device and observed how the recipient collected the package last February 29. The officers immediately proceeded to his arrest.
Intervening Substance
Once the package was inspected, 127 pills were found, which after being tested, tested positive for MDMA, known as ‘ecstasy’. Both the detainee and the pills and the police documents were made available to the Tarragona Magistrate’s Court, while authorization is awaited to send the involved substance to the Laboratory of Toxicology and Forensic Sciences in Barcelona for certification.
