The Prosecutor’s Office prepares a list of cases eligible for amnesty
The State Attorney General’s Office is working on compiling the cases that could be amnestied. According to the Attorney General, Álvaro García Ortiz, this list could include hundreds of cases, since filed cases, cases in process and cases pending oral hearing must be taken into account. The aim is to have a classified record of all these causes for amnesty.
A complex process
The task of compiling the causes is complex and requires painstaking work. According to García Ortiz, there are many small causes that must be analyzed individually. In addition, there are different types of causes, such as actions by firefighters, mayors, disobedience and injuries, which must be sized appropriately. All this makes the process slower and more complex.
The detailed listing
Once the compilation of the cases has been completed, the General Prosecutor’s Office hopes to be able to deliver an excel sheet with all the detailed cases. This list will include information on the cause, the type of crime, those affected and the status of the judicial process. This will allow to have a complete view of the causes susceptible to amnesty.
