The PP calls for the resignation of the president of Congress
The Popular Party has presented a resignation request to the president of the Congress, Francina Armengol, arguing the need for a change for reasons of transparency and democratic integrity.
Reasons for the request
According to the popular spokesman, Miguel Tellado, the resignation is necessary to guarantee democratic hygiene, in relation to his involvement in the Koldo case. In addition, it has been highlighted that Armengol cannot continue in office after paying for useless masks, knowing they were a scam, with money from the citizens of the Balearic Islands.
Possible future actions
The Popular Party does not rule out asking Armengol to appear before the commission of inquiry they are preparing in the Senate, where they have an absolute majority. In addition, unanswered questions have piled up and Armengol is considered unfit to continue in office amid deep scandal.
Evaluation of the popular spokesperson
The popular spokesman has remarked that the Spanish government is in disarray and in a panic due to the consequences of the arrest of Koldo García, and considers that with each passing day the circle closes closer to the more personal environment and closer to President Sánchez.
Position over Armengol
As for Armengol, the spokesman believes that she is not a victim of the Koldo case but a presumed necessary collaborator, and considers that she cannot hold the honor of being the third authority of the State for one more minute.
