The Selection of Semifinalists
After the initial performances with thirty competing artists, the Sona9 jury has chosen twelve talents who will compete in the semi-finals. This musical event will take place at several important festivals, such as the Figueres Acoustic Festival and the Santa Tecla Festival in Tarragona.
Classified Artists
The selected artists include a rich variety of genres and styles: Àgueda Segrelles (author’s song), Elape (author’s pop), and Gavina.mp3 (pop), among others. This diversity promises vibrant and exciting competition.
Genres and Styles
The twelve semi-finalists represent a range of styles, from the reggae pop of Íster to the hip-hop of Sordida, passing through the neosoul of Genni Knows. This amalgam of sounds reflects the cultural richness of contemporary Catalan music.
Proves Semifinals
To advance to the final, the artists will have to pass two tests: adapt a popular song into Catalan and set a poem by a designated author to music. This phase requires not only interpretive skills, but also creativity and originality.
Popular Vote and Verkami Award
One of the highlights is the introduction of the Verkami Award, which will be decided by popular vote. Fans will be able to vote on September 24 via the designated platforms, and the artist with the most supports will earn a place in the final.
Calendar of Concerts
The semi-final concerts are scheduled in various locations, including Figueres, Tarragona, Vic and Barcelona, with performances taking place between August 29 and September 23. Each concert promises to be an opportunity for the artists to shine and connect with the audience.
The Grand Final
The final phase will take place on November 16 at the Luz de Gas hall in Barcelona, where the four finalists will demonstrate their talent through intimate concerts. This stage includes the recording of an original song and intensive work with music professionals.
Horizon Awards
The 24th edition of Sona9 offers a generous endowment of more than €50,000 in prizes, which include the Sona9 Award, the Youth Award and other recognitions. The winner will not only record a record, but will also enjoy a tour of Catalonia, consolidating himself as a new star on the musical scene.
A Cultural Event
Sona9 is organized by Grup Enderrock and has the support of several institutions, including the Generalitat de Catalunya. This festival not only promotes emerging artists, but also celebrates the country’s musical and cultural diversity.
