A Unique Event in Vilafranca
From November 27 to 30, 2024, Vilafranca del Penedès will host a new edition of the Castells Film Festival, a celebration that promises immersion in the castellera culture through the screen.

Among the featured screenings, ‘El Gran Teatre del Liceu’ will focus on the 75th anniversary of the Castellers de Vilafranca, with a subsequent dialogue with journalists that will discuss the evolution of this tradition.

The programming includes documentaries such as ‘Al Cim (Catalan Towers)’, which narrates the victory of the Castellers de Vilafranca in the 2022 Competition, and ‘Un passeig pels núvols’, which recalls the group’s first triumph in a competitive context.
Special Sessions for Schoolchildren
On Thursday 28th, the youngest will have the opportunity to participate in special sessions that will combine cinema and castles. The screening of ‘The Human Tower’, a work that explores human constructions across several cities, promises to be an educational and inspiring experience.

On Friday the 29th, the Vinseum will host documentaries that will analyze key moments in the history of castles, including ‘1996: the best 3de9f’, which examines one of the most memorable constructions of that year’s Competition.

A talk on the social perception of castles by Francesc Valls will provide a critical and reflective perspective on the role that this tradition plays in current Catalan society.
Closing of the Festival with Emotion
On Saturday 30, the festival will culminate with a series of screenings that include documentaries about the most emblematic gangs and their evolution. The awards ceremony and closing of the event promises to be an emotional moment that will celebrate the passion and effort of all participants.
