A New Horizon for Catalan Art
The Vila Casas Foundation, recognized for its dedication to Catalan contemporary art for decades, is approaching a new season with a renewed action plan. With the aim of continuing to promote artistic creation, the Foundation also reaffirms its commitment to health, a central aspect of its mission since its inception.
Exhibition Spaces and Strategic Collaborations
2025 will be a year of transformation for several exhibition spaces that house the Foundation’s architectural heritage, including museums such as Can Mario, Palau Solterra, and Can Framis. In addition, the Foundation plans to establish alliances with educational and cultural institutions, as well as health entities, to enhance access to and interaction with art.
Current Topics in Exhibitions
Exhibitions scheduled for next year will focus on relevant social issues such as social critique, reproductive health, and female representation in culture. Artists such as Lluís Hortalà and Laia Abril will offer an in-depth look at contemporary inequalities and life experiences.
Innovative Projects: Vanishing Points and More
The ‘Vanishing Points’ project, initiated in 2015, will continue to expand the horizons of Catalan art through traveling exhibitions both nationally and internationally. Cities such as Madrid, Paris and Shanghai will host shows that reflect the creative diversity of the region.
A New Door to Art: Connecting Experiences
With the initiative ‘A New Door to Art’, the Foundation seeks to make art accessible to a wider audience. Starting in May, it will hold conferences that will combine art with music, gastronomy and technology, designed to create meaningful connections between visitors and the works on display.
Education and Inclusion: A Continuous Commitment
The Educational Service of the Vila Casas Foundation will continue to work to enrich artistic education, focusing on issues such as gender equality and sustainability. This program seeks to integrate contemporary art as a pedagogical tool, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals.
Transformation of Museum Spaces
The Foundation’s museums are preparing for a significant renovation of their spaces. Palau Solterra has already begun the creation of an educational room, while Can Mario will remodel its ground floor to improve the visitor experience.
Art and Health: Health 2025 Project
The Vila Casas Foundation launches the Health 2025 Project, which seeks to promote well-being through art. This initiative will include activities aimed at children and families with illnesses, as well as collaborations with health professionals to improve quality of life and promote dialogue about health and communication.
With this new stage, the Vila Casas Foundation reaffirms its role as a pioneer in the promotion of contemporary art and its commitment to society, focusing on health, education and inclusion.
