by PREMIUM.CAT
An imminent change in the emergency landscape

The restructuring of the ambulance service in Anoia is becoming more and more palpable, with the recent announcement that the Danish company Falck will take over the service. This decision, which has been gestured in a context of change and renewal, promises to significantly transform the way emergencies are managed in the region.

Falck: A Global Emergency Leader

Falck, known for his international emergency management excellence, has won one of the most competitive competitions in Spain. With three lots awarded within the framework of Catalan macrolitization, the company will guarantee an estimated income of 653 million euros over the next seven years, with the possibility of expanding the contract.

Details of the contract and the affected areas

The lots awarded include the South Metropolitan Area, Girona-Alt Maresme and the Penedès, which includes Anoia. Each of these territories will receive improved care and an increase in available resources, with the aim of guaranteeing a quality service to the citizens.

Improvements in infrastructure and service

The new contract involves significant extension in resources, with an increase of 46 ambulances, more than 380 professionals and almost 311,000 additional hours of service. This investment seeks not only to improve the response in emergency situations, but also to optimize non -urgent service with more modern and functional vehicles.

Technology at the service of efficiency

One of the most important innovations is the incorporation of a new technological tool designed to identify the most appropriate locations for ambulance. This improvement seeks to reduce response times during emergencies, thus improving the coverage of the territory.

Future expectations for the new service

Falck is expected to sign the contract shortly and begin to prepare its operation, with a period of one year to implement all the necessary changes. The new service will begin to operate from January 2026, hoping to provide more effective and quick care to the population of Anoia.

Expected benefits for community

With the new geographical distribution and the improvement of the service, it is hoped that the quality of medical care in Anoia will experience a significant increase. Patients who currently suffer from delays in hospitals such as Bellvitge can benefit from better coordination and response time.

As this change materializes, the community expects a significant transformation in its experience with ambulance services, with the aim of ensuring quick and efficient medical care.
