An unexpected situation
A landslide in Vacarisses has caused the derailment of a train on the R4 line of Rodalies this Sunday early in the morning. This unexpected incident has affected the R4 and R12 lines of Rodalies, generating a significant impact on rail traffic.
No injured
The train, which was traveling between Manresa and Sant Vicenç de Calders, was carrying 37 passengers, but fortunately no one was injured in this incident. However, necessary measures have been taken to ensure the safety of passengers and railway staff.
Temporary interruption
Between 09.17 and 09.40, railway traffic has been interrupted at the request of the Fire Brigade to assess the situation and take the appropriate measures. Once the re-establishment has been authorized, single-track traffic has been enabled in the affected section, which may cause delays in the R4 trains with origin or destination Manresa and in the R12 trains.
Forecast of normalization
According to Renfe’s spokesman, Antonio Carmona, the incident has been considered “mild” and is expected to mainly affect the section between Terrassa and Manresa. It was not possible to give an exact forecast of when the line will be fully restored, as this will depend on the assessment and tasks of the technicians.
