A change of unknown property

The residents of a building located at 13 Sant Elies Street in Sant Antoni de Vilamajor are in a perplexed situation. Since 2017, when the property passed to Sareb, most tenants have not been informed of this change, continuing with their rent payments to the former owner through a real estate agency.

The responsibility is not assumed

According to the Vilamajor-llinars housing union, SAREB failed in its obligation to properly manage the block and communicate to the neighbors about the new ownership. This lack of information has allowed the old developer to continue to act as the owner, covering the rents without the tenants being aware.

Mobilization and community action

Aware of the situation, the neighbors have decided to take action. With the support of the union, they have begun to mobilize to demand clarifications and solutions, denouncing that Sareb has left them in a situation of uncertainty and irregularity.

Investigation to the Property Registry

In November last year, neighbors visited the property registry to verify who was the real owner of the building. Discovering that it was Sareb, they sought to make contact to clarify their housing situation and the state of the property.

The silence of Sareb

Despite the many calls and efforts to get an answer, Sareb has kept a bewildering silence. Until now, only three neighbors have received an offer to formalize a rental agreement, leaving the rest in a situation of uncertainty.

A dialogue with local authorities

To find solutions, the neighbors have met with the Mayor and the Councilor for Urban Planning of San Antonio, asking for their help in achieving a interlocutor who can provide concrete answers from the SAREB.

Preparations for the future

In the meantime, the neighbors have collected all the necessary documentation to be prepared when SAREB decides to formalize the rental contracts. This situation has generated an atmosphere of anxiety and insecurity that continues to increase over the days.
