Una situation unexpected
An unexpected event shook the Rodalies de Catalunya network this Sunday. An incident on the track between Vacarisses and Castellbell and El Vilar, between Bages and Vallès Occidental, has caused the departure of the first axle of a train on the R4 line. Despite the magnitude of the accident, no injuries or significant material damage have been recorded.
Details of the accident
According to information provided by Renfe, the accident took place at 3/4 of 8 in the morning on a train traveling between Manresa and Sant Vicenç de Calders, with 37 passengers on board. Although a detailed analysis is still awaited, everything points to the adverse weather conditions affecting Catalonia being the cause of the incident.

Renfe has activated all the protocols established in coordination with Civil Protection to transfer the passengers to another train, arranged in parallel, with the aim of evacuating them from the area. Regarding the service, the affected section is running on a single track, and information is being provided through all communication and customer service channels.
