Cocentaina celebrates Valencian music with ‘Spring Music’

by PREMIUM.CAT

A trip through two decades of music

Until March 28, the Cultural Center El Teula de Cocentaina hosts the exhibition ‘Spring Musical’, which offers a unique look at the evolution of Valencian music for the last twenty years. This initiative, promoted by the City of Cocentaina and various academic institutions, explores the many aspects that have marked this music scene.

Collaborations and influences

The project has been made possible by the collaboration between the councils of Popular University and Culture, the Language Service of the University of Alicante, and other entities such as Language Volunteering. Through this exhibition, visitors will discover the importance of literary figures such as Vicent Andrés Estellés, Joan Fuster and Ausiàs March, who have influenced the lyrics of numerous songs.

Graphic art and merchandise

In addition to music, ‘Spring Musical’ also highlights graphic art associated with Valencian bands and artists, as well as the merchandising that accompanies these projects, creating a visual and sound experience for all attendees.

A success that crosses borders

Since its launch, the exhibition has resorted to various localities, including Castellón, Alicante and Valencia, as well as cities outside the Valencian Community as Barcelona and Girona, demonstrating the wide range and attractiveness of Valencian music.

Additional activities and closing

On March 20, there will be a guided tour directed by David Garcia Sirvent, technician of the Language Service, who will provide a detailed view of the panels exposed. The closing of the show will be held with a concert by the singer -songwriter Cesc Freixas, who is part of the Barnasants festival and will also mark the end of his tour. In addition, before the concert, a creative workshop will be held on plates and magnets of music in Valencian, to foster the active participation of the attendees.
