The 2024/25 season of the Audi Fis World Cup concluded with an exceptional show in Sun Valley, where alpine skiers offered an exciting competition during the last slalom. Henrik Kristoffersen, from Norway, won the glass balloon, a recognition that consecrates his skill in this discipline.
The Conquest of the Fourth Title of Slalem
With a 47 -point advantage, Kristoffersen knew that he needed a solid performance to equalize the Italian legend Alberto Tomb and to obtain his fourth slalom title. His strategy was translated into a fourth place that assured him of the general victory, despite the intense competition of his rivals, Loic Meillard and Clement Noël.
An exciting battle
Meillard, with his combative spirit, and Noël, the current Olympic champion, did their best to oust the Norwegian. However, Kristoffersen’s strength was decisive. His compatriot, Timon Haugan, shone with a daily victory, stopping the chrono in 1: 43.61, while Noël remained only 0.03 seconds from the triumph.

With this fourth balloon, Kristoffersen adds to the select group of great skiers, just behind Marcel Hirscher and Ingeemar Stenmark. His career includes two wins and three podiums, consolidating his position as one of the most technical skiers in history. Kristoffersen, despite his brilliant performance, shared his thoughts on the pressure of competing at the highest level. “I felt calm at the exit of the second shot. I knew that Loic was in the helm, but I also knew that I had to stay calm. When I saw that Gstrein was ahead, it was a great relief,” he said with a smile.

With this success, Kristoffersen’s future in the slalom is bright. His resilience and technical skills allow him to look forward to optimism. “It’s an intense journey, with many ups and downs. I don’t want to continue in this constant pressure position, but I’m determined to keep fighting,” he concluded.
