Approval of the municipal budget
The plenary session of the City Council of Calafell has given the green light to the budget for 2025, which amounts to 63.13 million euros, with a significant part for investments.
Rejects the allegations
In the recently held session, the allegations presented by the ERC municipal group were rejected, allowing the new municipal accounts to enter into force without further delay.
Investments and job creation
The budget includes a heading of 5.6 million euros for investments, with the public company Calafell Municipal Company of Services SA (CEMSSA) receiving 19.27 million euros and creating 20 new jobs to strengthen the cleaning and gardening services.
Votes and supports
The result of the vote was 13 votes in favor, from PSC, together and PP, while 7 councilors, including ERC, UAM, Vox and CUP, voted against.
Details of the accounts by areas
The accounts have been distributed in various areas, with a significant investment in social rights and open government, which receives more than 8 million euros, and urban strategy, with about 27 million euros.
Prominent projects for 2025
Among the most important initiatives of the budget are the extension of the public transport service, the increase in resources for the Local Police and the improvement of municipal equipment and vehicles through renting.
Bets on sustainability and well -being
In addition, improvements in natural spaces and educational centers have been planned, as well as a reinforcement of social policies and equality, including actions for animal welfare.
Subsidies and debt management
The City Council will also benefit from an increase in the subsidies of other administrations, with a total of 1,741,841.22 euros, while reduce the credit for investments by 9.88%, thus maintaining the municipal debt below 75%.
This management will allow the City Council to operate more effectively in various areas without the need for authorization from the Generalitat.
