Environmental action on the beach of the regueral
The impact of environmental volunteering continues this 2025 with a new initiative on the beach of the Regueral, where Plastic Free Wave, together with the City Council of Cambrils, the Diputació de Tarragona and Heüra, will organize a waste collection on Saturday, April 12. This activity seeks not only to clean the beach, but also to promote the active participation of the community.
Details of the event
The waste collection will be from 11am to 1pm and will be presented in the form of a competition, with prizes and a snack for all participants, fostering a festive and collaborative atmosphere. The main objective is to raise awareness of the importance of reducing plastics and keeping the beaches clean, especially during the summer season when more visitors go to these spaces.
Commitment to sustainability
Antonio Martínez, Councilor for Citizen Participation, emphasized the importance of continuing this environmental volunteer campaign. Martinez has expressed his intention to carry out new actions that promote civility and support local initiatives such as the Terra i Pau platform, dedicated to sustainability.
Expansion of the program
In addition, the councilor has announced that the awareness program will be expanded to include social and educational volunteering, in collaboration with various entities working in these areas, thus enriching the community fabric.
Solidarity Merchant: A gesture of solidarity
At the same time, the services of Saltirons, Sadi, Pici and Placi, with the support of the Department of Education, are collecting articles for the second edition of the Solidarity Mercadet, which will take place on May 15. This initiative seeks to foster mutual support among families.
Collection of objects for families
Citizens can provide clothes, toys, books, footwear and other aging objects that are in good condition. The collection dates will be Wednesday 2, 9, 9, 16, 23 and 30, as well as on May 7, with varied schedules to facilitate the participation of everyone.
