Its foundation, usually active in times of crisis, has intervened after the devastating floods that ravaged Torrent in October 2024.
Immediate grants for victims
In response to the catastrophe, the Amancio Ortega Foundation has implemented a support plan that has benefited 525 Torrent residents. Financial aid has been crucial in dealing with material damage caused by floods. The City Council of Torrent has managed a total of 2,376,213 euros of a budget of 4.3 million euros dedicated to the recovery of those affected.

The aid comes from a solidarity fund of 100 million euros, designed to attend 38 affected municipalities. The City Council has received 1,646 applications between December 5, 2024 and January 7, 2025, prioritizing the most serious cases.
Impact on the community
So far, 305 homes have received a total of 1,938,000 euros. Aid amounts have been adjusted according to the level of damage, with some homes receiving up to 10,000 euros to repair severe damage. Most have obtained grants of 5,000 euros, while those without the proper documentation have received 2,000 euros to replace furniture and appliances. Shared households have obtained 1,000 euros for basic needs.
Support beyond housing
The Foundation has not only attended the affected families, but also addressed the needs of damaged vehicles. A total of 198 vehicle owners have received help of up to 2,000 euros, totaling an investment of 391,213 euros to help restore everyday mobility.
Help self-employed and small businessmen
The freelancers have also been included in this help plan, with 10 workers receiving up to 4,000 euros each to help recover their economic activities. This total investment of 35,000 euros has been vital for the reactivation of local businesses after the crisis.
