King Felipe VI will preside over the central event on July 5
The basic general academy of non-commissioned officers (AGBS) in Talarn celebrates its 50th anniversary this year and does so with an extensive program of events that will begin next March. The most outstanding will be the one that will take place on July 5, coinciding with the delivery of dispatches to the 49th promotion of new sergeants, and which will be attended by King Felipe VI as the supreme authority of the armed forces.
A military music concert open to the public the day before
The commemoration of the half century of the Talarn academy will also include a concert of military music that will take place on the 4th of July in the town’s Plaza Mayor. The concert will be performed by a music unit of the Land Army and will be free and accessible to everyone who wants to enjoy a musical evening with a varied repertoire.
Cultural, social and sporting activities for all tastes
The AGBS has also prepared several cultural, social and sporting activities to celebrate its anniversary. Among them, the Land Army championship of shooting courses stands out, which was contested at the Olympic shooting club in Lleida on February 28 and 29, and which had the participation of members of the forces and bodies of State security.
In addition, the Talarn academy will host the Earth Army championships in judo and hand-to-hand combat, which will take place in its sports center between March 11 and 14, in the morning and afternoon. These championships will be open to the public who wish to attend as a spectator and see the skills of the military in these disciplines.
Finally, there will also be a fencing championship, which will take place at the academy’s sports center between April 8 and 10, also in the morning and afternoon. This competition will also allow free access to the population that has an interest in this sport.
