New horizon for sports facilities
The City Council of Tarragona has begun a new chapter in improving the sports complex of Sant Pere and Sant Pau with the tender for the updating of the executive project that will include a gym, a water area and modern changing rooms. With a base budget of 36,142.70 euros, this initiative seeks to ensure that the new facilities comply with current architectural and structural regulations.

Mario Soler, Minister of Sports, emphasized that the new gym is one of the most important projects for the current municipal government. He said that it is essential to update the project to ensure its viability before proceeding to tender the works. “The residents of Sant Pere and Sant Pau deserve high quality equipment that will meet their needs,” said Soler.
Adaptation to new regulations
The project review includes the adaptation to the new regulations that have been recently implemented, which cover aspects such as habitability, accessibility and security in waste management. The deadline for the contracting of updating tasks is set in three months.
Details of the project
The new gym, which will occupy an area of 1,649 square meters, will be located between the existing pool and the pavilion. The installation will have a ground floor and a first floor, with rooms dedicated to varied activities, muscle, changing rooms, rehabilitation spaces and a lift to facilitate access to all users, connecting with the stands of the pavilion.
Extension of services
In addition to the new gym facilities, the project also envisages the extension of the number of changing rooms in the pool and the creation of a new water area, thus improving the experience for users.

With the updating of the project, a new tender will be given way that will allow the execution of the works, a process that will mark a before and after in the sports facilities of the city.
