La Gloria: An expected event
With the arrival of April 20, Alcoy is preparing to host one of the most anticipated events of the year: La Gloria. This tradition, which attracts festers and residents, is a celebration where each row parashes with a representative, under the direction of their sergeants.
The protagonists of the parade
On the Christian side, Jordi Seguí will again lead the 14 rows of the Cross, while the Moorish side presents a new face with Mauro Camañez at the helm. This variation promises a dynamic and exciting show for all attendees.
A musical route
The Alcoy Music Union will open the parade with the famous piece ‘Kouler’, celebrating its 125th anniversary. This pasdoble, created by Camilo Pérez Laporta, will mark the beginning of a morning full of music and tradition. As participants progress along the route, music will continue with ‘Machaco’ and ‘Gloria Dominice’, offering a rich sound variety.
Moment of recognition
The New Music Society of Alcoy will continue with ‘In the war’ while Mauro Camáñez makes its appearance, emphasizing the importance of the moment with its presence. Other pieces such as ‘El Walí Marxós’ and ‘A More Furniture’ will close the participation of the Moorish side with great enthusiasm.
The apotheosis of the Christians
The Christians will end the day with the primitive music Apolo d’Alcoi, with Jordi Seguí returning to the square to direct his row. The music that will sound will include classics such as ‘Music Apolo’ and ‘Mi Barcelona’, who will evoke memories and emotions among the attendees.

The festive sounds will also arrive at the residences of seniors, with the Serpis Musical Grouping that will bring the music to the Assyl of San José and to the prevention, creating an atmosphere of celebration and joy for all residents.

The following week, on April 27, the little ones will take over with children’s glory. This event, which highlights the emerging talent, will begin again with ‘Kouger’ and will include other pieces such as ‘Spring’ and ‘Chordiet’, showing the learning and passion of young musicians.
