A year of significant changes

The Bell-lloc Viver Foundation in Cardedeu has presented a report on its activities in 2024, highlighting the care of 687 people and 93 labor insertions. This balance shows the positive impact of its initiatives on the community.

A transformative housing model

Among the various offers of the Foundation, the new housing model has taken care. This approach seeks to foster greater inclusion, at the same time ensuring the privacy and autonomy of its users. Alba Domínguez, who leads housing services, comments: “Our intention is to provide more personalized and decent attention through small spaces that promote individuality.”

Challenges of large spaces

Dominguez highlights the limitations presented by the great residences, where the lack of choice in coexistence hinders privacy. “Our new model seeks to increase the ratio of professionals for each user, opting for smaller residences with better working conditions for staff,” he adds.

Technology at the service of inclusion

One of the most important novelties is the integration of artificial intelligence to improve the daily life of users. Domínguez explains: “We are exploring home automation applications and digital tools to facilitate administrative efforts and to optimize time.”

The need to improve the transfer of services

Despite advances, Dominguez warns of the complexity of transferring services between different levels of support, from the residence to independent life. “The steps are very rigid and difficult,” he says.

Community and artistic initiatives

In addition to housing, the Foundation has launched projects such as ‘La Fàbrica, the Textile Bar’, which not only provides employment opportunities, but also promotes quality products with a strong social component. Other initiatives include artistic projects such as the video ‘Saltem Barreres’ and the collective mural ‘for a world without barriers: Connectem’.

Fostering mental health and inclusion

Recently, the first day dedicated to mental and business health, together with the SAFE service, which advises and accompanies families and people with specific needs.

Looking to the future

With a view to 2025, the Viver Foundation is aimed at strengthening employment, training, creation of alliances in the community, as well as the development of day care and leisure care services.

Key data of the activity

In demographic terms, by 2024 he has seen a distribution of 64% of men and 36% of women among the people served. The Foundation has had 278 employees and 245 customers, as well as day care for about thirty people and a leisure service for more than fifty.
