Subsidies for an equal future
The City Council of Xàtiva has taken a significant step in the promotion of equality and diversity, approving a set of bases for the granting of subsidies for projects that defend essential values such as gender equality, social inclusion and the fight against gender violence and LGTBIQ+phobia. With a total investment of 5,000 euros, these aids are aimed at women’s associations, feminist groups and LGTBIQ+ in the city.
Clear objectives for equality
The initiative, promoted by the Department of Women and Equality, aims to support initiatives that promote associations and active participation in the community. The eligible projects must be carried out in Xàtiva between January 1 and December 31, 2025, and must focus on areas such as the visibility of women’s contributions, awareness-raising against LGTBIQ+phobia, and the promotion of sexual and gender diversity.
News in the regulatory bases
This year, the bases have been updated with a more accurate writing than priority areas of action, including actions to recognize the contribution of women in traditionally dominated sectors, to foster the use of new technologies between women, and to hold significant dates for the LGTBIQ+community. This approach seeks to make it easier for entities to design more effective and shocking projects.
Requirements for participation
Any legally constituted associations that are registered in the Municipal Associations Registry and whose objective is to promote equality may be requested. The grants may cover expenses related to staff, materials and activities, provided they are properly justified.
Application Procedure
The call will be published on the municipal edicts plank and the electronic headquarters of the City Council of Xàtiva. Applications may be submitted for a period of 20 working days from the publication in the Official Gazette of the Province.
Commitment to the community
The Councilor for Women and Equality, Amorós Amor, has stated that ‘the purpose of these help is to strengthen the women’s associative fabric and the LGTBIQ+collective. We want to continue collaborating with these entities to improve the rights of the citizenry, and the Women’s House will be available to provide support in the process of requesting these aid. ‘
