A Prometedor debut of Imola
Andorran pilot Frank Porté has marked his debut in the Porsche Mobil 1 SuperCup this Saturday, competing in one of the most emblematic circuits of Formula 1, Imola. In a weekend full of challenges, Porté achieved a remarkable comeback, finishing the race in 17th place, a performance that has left a positive imprint in his first experience internationally.
Preparations and adaptation to the circuit
The preparations began on Thursday, with Porté dedicating the day to familiarity with the circuit. “It was essential for me to have time to assimilate everything that surrounds Imola. We made a tour of the track and focused on capturing every important detail,” said the pilot.
Free Workouts: A first tasting
On Friday, during his first free training session, Porté showed his ability to quickly adapt. “With just eighteen laps I managed to understand the track and obtain references that would give me confidence for the classification,” he added with satisfaction.
Competitive classification
Saturday was the turn of the standings, and Porté was very competitive in a group of pilots where the differences were minimal. “Finishing just a second of the leader in such a demanding competition is a great indicator of my progress. I am very satisfied, especially considering that it was only my second classification with a Porsche,” he reflected.
Intense race with chaos moments
During the race, Porté experienced an experience of extreme intensity. “My departure was excellent; I won several positions in the first curve. The first lap was a real show, with smoke, oil on the court and cars in various positions. I dodged everything and managed to move on ten places,” he recalled enthusiastically.
Restructuring and maintenance of rhythm
Despite the fact that a red flag caused an interruption that caused him to lose some positions, Porté kept a good pace when he resumed the race. “I was comfortable, and despite a small mistake due to lack of experience at the end, I ended up in seventeenth place.
Looking to the future
Frank’s debut leads Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup not only an important step to him, but also represents the beginning of a new stage on his car. With iconic circuits such as Monaco in the calendar, the Andorran pilot is determined to continue to progress and make a name in the European car scene.
