A new recognition to administrative innovation
The City Council of Reus has again positioned itself as a leader in the field of digital transformation and open governance, gaining the first place in the 10th edition of the prizes granted annually by the Consortium Administration Open de Catalunya (AOC). This year, the city shares the position with Lleida, emphasizing its excellence in the category of city councils of more than 50,000 inhabitants.
A commitment to citizenship
This distinction recognizes the constant effort of the City Council to open itself to the citizenry and promote digital relations. From the beginning of the awards, Reus has maintained a prominent presence in the top 10 of its category, now reaffirmed in the first position.
The voice of local authorities
Montserrat Flores, Councilor for Good Governance, Transparency and Participation, was responsible for collecting the award at an event held on May 20 in El Prat de Llobregat. Flores expressed his pride in the position achieved, emphasizing that “staying in the first place is a testament to the arduous work of the human team in the City Council of Reus and the governments that have firmly committed to this initiative. We will continue to strive to meet future challenges and improve digital services for citizens.”
Methodology of L’Enx de Madurasa Digital
The open administration recognitions are awarded based on the digital maturity index, which is updated each year. This index will evaluate the fundamental dimensions of the digital transformation of local administrations, including the implantation of digital services, the activity of processing with citizens and interoperability, as well as the implementation of the principles of open government.
A thorough analysis
The methodology used to determine the degree of digital maturity of the administrations analyzes contrasting and quality data, evaluating more than 30 indicators of 947 city councils and 42 county councils. This information is published openly, thus guaranteeing the transparency and reliability of the data.
A look at Futur
With this new recognition, Reus reaffirms his commitment to innovation and continuous improvement in public administration. The city is preparing to face new challenges in digitalization and continue to improve the quality of the services it offers to its citizens.
