A journey through knowledge

The Travelers and Writers Association (AVE) is preparing for its fourth edition, a meeting that promises to be a space for the exchange of experiences and knowledge. This event, which will be held on Saturday 24, will move its activities to the Port of Tarragona Museum, where attendees will be able to participate in various conferences.

Conferences that bring the world closer

With a program designed for curious and inspiring, the day will include presentations on topics ranging from the mysterious polar lands to the deep oceans and the skies. Javier Cacho, Héctor Salvador, Ángel Aguirre and Miquel Mesegué will be the protagonists of these talks that will lead the attendees to make a trip through the experiences of these adventurers.

The value of travel: reflections and experiences

The President of the AVE, Martín Garrido, emphasizes the importance of understanding the journey not only as a simple adventure, but as an experience that connects us with our origins and our history. This edition will be dedicated to analyzing the journey from a scientific perspective, exploring its meaning over time.

Inauguration with gender vision

The event will begin with the conference ‘Ser Dona is a heroic journey’, by Clara Estrems and Cristina Fernández, who will propose a reflection on the role of women in exploration and travel.

Diverse activities and exciting debates

After the morning conferences, the afternoon will offer a historical route that will cover from prehistoric trips to the medieval period. Marina Mosquera and Antoni Riera Melis will guide the attendees in this temporary scan, which will culminate in a conversation on travel literature and the presentation of the book ‘Siwa Drawings’ by Jordi Esteva.

A recognized tribute

On Sunday, participants may witness the delivery of the Joaquim Gatell Prize, which recognizes the extraordinary trajectory of a prominent traveler. The last edition was awarded the journalist Tomás Alcoverro, a distinction that emphasizes the contribution of exceptional travelers like him.

An unforgettable experience

This meeting is not just an event to share anecdotes, but also an opportunity to connect with people who have explored the world passionately. Attendees will have the opportunity to feel first -hand the experiences of these travelers, who remind us that each expedition is not only a geographical displacement, but also a journey inland.
