A year of significant changes in transportation
In 2024 it was a prominent year for the Territorial Mobility Authority of Lleida (ATM), with a record of 445,892 trips, reflecting an impressive 62.5% increase compared to the 274,455 trips of the previous year. This improvement is attributable to the recent integration of the counties of the Alt Pirineu i Aran and the Solsonès in the system of the ATM of Ponent.
Key runners and increase in mobility
Among the highlights, the corridor that connects Esterri d’Àneu, La Pobla de Segur i Lleida has experienced extraordinary growth, with 103,693 trips by 2024, an increase of 150% compared to 41,567 trips of 2023. On the other hand, the connection between Alt Urgell and Cerdanya has gone from 85,076 trips to 133,018, a 56% increase.
Counselor’s statements: social and economic impact
Sílvia Paneque, Minister of Territory, Housing and Ecological Transition, emphasizes that this integration has not only increased the number of trips, but has also resulted in significant savings for users. “The neighbors of the Alt Pirineu i Aran and the Solsonès can now use integrated titles, facilitating the communications both internal and with the rest of the counties,” he says.
Opportunities and strategies against depopulation
Paneque adds that the aim is to create opportunities and implement services nationwide, helping to combat depopulation in these areas.
New in the fare system
The integration has led to the creation of new fare zones: Zone 3 includes Pallars Jussà, Alt Urgell and Solsonès, while Zone 4 covers Alta Ribagorça, Pallars Sobirà, Aran and Cerdanya.
Benefits for young people and minors
With this new structure, the residents of the Alt Pirineu i Aran and the Solsonès can access the T-16 card for children under 16 and the T-Jove for young people under 30. Until May 16, 2025, the ATM has issued 273 T-16 and 158 T-Jove cards, reflecting a significant interest on the part of young users.
Un futur promissor
With these measures, the ATM of Lleida not only improves mobility, but also promotes greater territorial cohesion, opening a new chapter in public transport in the region.
