An evening of excitement and learning
The afternoon was a special moment for students, parents and relatives. The teaching staff, with enthusiasm, organized a series of educational workshops for students and visits to the center for families.
A hundred students, mainly from Solson schools such as CEIP Setelsis, CEIP el Vinyet and rural schools in the region, attended the event. It should be noted that this year we also received a new school, that of Sant Gil de Torà, which has recently joined our region and has become a center attached to the Institute.
The students were welcomed by the management team and then divided into small groups to exchange information between the ESO students and the primary students. This allowed the sixth graders to clarify their doubts and prepare for the transition to high school.
Didactic workshops and visits to the center
The didactic workshops were an opportunity for the students to experience different subjects that they will study in the first year of ESO. They participated in workshops on natural sciences, technology, social sciences, mathematics, expression, diversity, foreign languages, physical education and Catalan and Spanish languages.
At the same time, families had the opportunity to visit the center’s facilities in different groups. After the tour, everyone enjoyed a snack in the center’s dining room to end the activity.
A memorable day for the students
This day was very important for the first, second and third year students of ESO. Students like Jan, Ferran, Nil, Amina, Nisrin, Júlia, Martina, Abril and others tell us that the visit to the center reassured and motivated them. Before the visit, they had preconceived ideas based on American series, but they discovered that the high school was a close and welcoming place, far from the stereotypes they had seen on television. This made them want to attend high school during the summer.
It should be noted that some students, like Abril, who came from a rural school, still remember their old primary school with nostalgia.
