Changes in the Sports Council of Manlleu
After the last plenary session, there has been a significant change in Manlleu City Council. Aleix Estrada, who until now held the position of councilor for sports, will leave Junts Per Catalunya and will continue as a non-attached councillor. This decision was taken by mutual agreement following their position on issues such as feminism and the approach to male violence, among others.
As a result of this, the mayor, Àlex Garrido, removed the responsibilities of the sports council from Aleix Estrada, who will become a non-affiliated councillor, together with Paco Zambrana. This implies that he will have an opposition role, as he already highlighted in his interventions during the last plenary session. In this context, Estrada took the opportunity to request that projects be carried out on which he has been working in recent years, such as the renovation of the dressing rooms and the bar of the AEC Manlleu field.
Núria Martínez, the new councilor for sports
The removal of sports responsibilities from Aleix Estrada meant that this area became the responsibility of Núria Martínez, also from JuntsXCat. Until this week, Martínez was councilor for Participació Ciutadana. The councilorship of Citizen Participation will not be assumed by any other councilor in particular, but will be distributed among the members of the party.
