A decade of music and concerts all over Seikos
A decade after starting their musical adventure, the Seikos group, with thirty musical tracks and eighty performances throughout the Seikos territory, announces its retirement from the stage. The line-up of Sant Feliu has revealed that its last concert will take place next Saturday, May 11 at the Butifarra Sound festival, with an announcement made through a video on social networks.
The beginnings of the musical group Seikos
In 2014, an ensemble was born in Sant Feliu made up of young people who shared a passion for music and met on Friday afternoons to perform in the Casal de Joves rehearsal space. Over time, the Seikos project was consolidated until its first performance in Plaça Lluís Companys during a Sant Joan night in 2015. From that moment on, the band from Sant Feliu continued to offer concerts in various places in the territory and went professional with the release of his first studio album, ‘Strictly Personal’, in 2016. Subsequently, Seikos presented the second and third albums; ‘Viaje al Centro’ in 2019 and ‘Estival’ in 2022.
An emotional farewell
“We are the same as always, a group of friends who got together to pass the time and have dedicated ten years to music,” says Asier Garcia, the group’s guitarist. Garcia emphasizes that the CAU gave them the opportunity to play that night of Sant Joan: “It is an emotional moment to close this stage with those who trusted us from the beginning in our city.” The planned show will be more extensive than usual and will include songs they haven’t performed in a while. In addition, some surprises have been announced, such as special collaborations, for a concert that promises to be epic.
A look back at the highlights
Apart from the last concert, one of the members of Seikos recalls some memorable occasions of the past years, such as the presentation of the album ‘Viaje al Centro’ at La Nau in Barcelona or their performance at Butifarra Sound in 2018. The group , which has evolved musically from reggae and ska to pop-rock, has been influenced by the most relevant bands of today. The guitarist emphasizes that the first album received influences from the Valencian scene, with bands such as La Raíz, La Gossa Sorda and Obrint Pas, while the most recent works incorporate pop-rock elements such as those of Oques Grasses.
Goodbye to the stage
The lineup, made up of Yon Iriarte and Roger Clemente on vocals, Asier Garcia on guitar, Arnau Rius on bass, Neus Aranda on trumpet, Enric Ramón on tenor sax, Guillem Salles on drums and Edu Núñez on keyboards, will put an end end of their career at one of the first stages where they performed. In this sense, this will be the third time that the band from Sant Feliuen will perform at the Butifarra Sound festival.
