A New Stage in Education in Catalonia
The recent appointment of the Minister of Education, Josep Bargalló, has marked a turning point in the region. Among the eight names appointed to lead the Territorial Services, Dolors Collell, resident of Manlleu, stands out as head of representation in Central Catalonia. This decision implies his resignation as spokesman for MÉS Manlleu at the City Council, handing over his position to the party’s number 2, Rafa Cuenca.
An Outstanding Professional Profile
Collell, born in Manlleu in 1960, has an academic background in Catalan Philology and Dramatic Art. Her experience as director of schools in Torelló and Vic, together with her previous mandate as territorial director between 2009 and 2011, confirm her suitability for this new position.
Key Collaboration
Collell will work hand in hand with Júlia Estaran, designated as assistant director. These appointments will come into force once they are made official by the Official Journal of the Generalitat of Catalonia (DOGC), thus consolidating a new stage within education in the region.
