A Fun and Collaboration Space
The Parish Center has always played an important role in the Escolania’s activities. Although the services as a school did not involve any personal effort, the Center represented the recreational part of the activities.
After the catechesis sessions on Sunday afternoons, the members of the School headed towards the Centre. The Road Parish Center, located near the Centro restaurant, was an emblematic place where various activities were carried out such as the collection of funds for the construction of the facilities.
Participation in Solidarity Activities
In order to finance the works of the new Centre, the members of the Escolania committed themselves to initiatives such as the Bottle Campaign during the Christmas holidays and the Tombola during the Festa Major. In addition, they collaborated in tasks such as labeling wine bottles and other support activities.
Participation in Theater Companies
Enric Borràs Company
The students often collaborated with the Enric Borràs Theater Company of the Parish Centre, participating in various performances such as ‘Els Pastorets’ and other plays. Through these experiences, Escolania members developed artistic skills and fostered local culture.
Diversity of Interpretations
From characters such as demons and shepherds to Chinese, the school children were versatile in their theatrical performances. Participation in works such as ‘El Divino Impaciente’ and ‘La Puntaire’ enriched the artistic experiences of the Escolania members.
Anecdotes and Highlights
During the performance of various plays, such as ‘The Cardinal’, unique and anecdotal moments were experienced that reflect the collaborative spirit and passion of the Escolania members for the world of interpretation. These episodes, like the day of the Immaculate Conception, highlight the determination of young people to participate in cultural activities despite possible restrictions.
The experiences at the Parish Center and its relationship with Escolania contributed to forging lasting bonds and enriching the training of the participants in artistic and charitable fields.
