Discovering the city
When we reach maturity, it is essential to move. The sweetness of life and monotony are valid reasons. In a small town, have dried fruit for breakfast. In the big city, public transport can ease the malastruga. My journey unfolds between two axes: the rambles and the road. I ascend via Ciscu Sáez to the ambulatory. I walk through the rambles and down Laureà Miró. When I get to Carrer dels Arbres, from time to time I go into Falguera. Then, I go through Passage Carnisser, Sant Josep, Rupert Lladó and, through Monturiol, I return to the road. Then, I take Passage de l’Alumini to General Prim. Finally, I continue along the Old Cemetery Path. All this takes me an hour and a quarter if I go slowly. Obviously, the route can be altered by the tortures of the works, often leading me astray. This morning, for example, with the curtain sail of Ca l’Escala, the town’s main shoe store. At the back there was a ladder of considerable dimensions, which make me anxious. Especially if there’s someone upstairs, you get me, right? So I tripped, but fortunately without serious consequences. Even so, it bothers me how lightly they deal with it and leave them unaccompanied. In short, the Sucre route requires a body that does not move much. However, pandemics and downturns aggravate mobility. It’s been four long and difficult years. The burial continues to disfigure the city. A curiosity, the screws are hidden there with more difficulty.
