Among the people who have arrived in Sant Feliu in recent years, there are Natàlia Rodríguez, Kelly Panduro, Susana Buitrago and Estela Morales. Each of them has a unique story and a different migration experience. They have come to the city looking for new opportunities and a better life for themselves and their families.
The project ‘Voices of migrant women in Sant Feliu de Llobregat’
To give voice to these women and share their experiences, the photojournalist Raül Clemente has created a video entitled ‘Voices of women who migrated to Sant Feliu de Llobregat’. This video explores his migration experiences, his arrival in the city and his future prospects. The women share their feelings, concerns and dreams from different places in the city, such as Plaça de la Solidaritat, Plaça Lluís Companys and Parc Nadal.
Recognition and support
The town council of Sant Feliu de Llobregat values the struggle and resilience of these migrant women. Both the councilor for Solidarity and Twinning, Núria Carrera, and the mayor Lourdes Borrell, emphasize the importance of diversity and welcome in the city. Sant Feliu is a city that welcomes and accompanies migrants, making them feel part of the community.
Reflections and debate
After the screening of the video, a round of questions opened and a round table began with the activist Aurea Ayón, the former councilor of the Badalona City Council Fàtima Taleb and the facilitator of the diverse women’s group of Sant Feliu , Amal Ait Blal. During this debate, topics such as racialized feminism, religious freedom, and interculturality were addressed.
