The concern for the lack of professionals and the defense of the public system
Conchita Ribera, spokesperson for Marea Pensionista de Catalunya, has highlighted the importance of defending public health, denouncing the lack of 3,000 professionals in primary care and warning about privatization attempts. He also stressed the need to protect this key right for the elderly and future generations.
Criticism of privatizing models and the defense of comprehensive health
Ramon Franquesa, spokesperson for the Coespe coordinator and the Alliance of Tides and Social Movements, has criticized privatization models, using the United States as an example. He stressed the importance of maintaining public health as a service to heal people, not as a source of business for private entities.
Citizen mobilization and support for the demonstration
The protest, which will start at 11.30 a.m. in Plaça d’Urquinaona and go down Via Laietana to Plaça de Sant Jaume, has the support of several organizations, such as unions, political parties and other entities. This mobilization seeks to vindicate the importance of public health and reject privatizing policies.
