An Inclusive and Funny Story
The Alba Jussà cooperative has launched the story ‘Lavors, qui sóc?’ as part of its Seeds of Opportunity project. This story, written in Pallares and in an easy-to-read style, presents an inclusive and fun story starring six varieties of recovered vegetable seeds. The story follows a vegetable who finds herself in the uncertainty of her own identity and embarks on a journey to discover it.
Discovering the Vegetables
Through this narrative, the properties of the tomato, pepper and onion are highlighted, offering the reader the possibility of discovering curiosities about these vegetables and their importance in a healthy diet.
The objective of Seeds of Opportunities
The Seeds of Opportunities project aims to spread its mission of social agriculture, keeping alive a seed bank to preserve the varieties that were traditionally planted in El Pallars. This initiative seeks to promote awareness of the importance of agricultural biodiversity and the preservation of traditional seeds.
Illustrations and Acquisition of Seeds
The story is illustrated by Sira Lobo, known for her work on world city maps. It also includes stickers with illustrations of the characters in the story. The six recovered seeds that star in the story can be purchased in the Alba Jussà online store and planted in your own garden.
Promotion of Agricultural Culture
The cooperative, with an orchard in Tremp where it grows recovered varieties, seeks to expand the presence of these seeds and promote their cultivation throughout the territory. In addition, the presentations of the story, coinciding with Sant Jordi, have the participation of a group of people from Alba Jussà, who will be in charge of telling the stories.
Employment and Social Commitment
In addition to promoting agricultural biodiversity, this initiative also seeks to promote the employment of people with difficulties accessing work, demonstrating a social and community commitment.
