The city of Balaguer will experience the Carnestoltes del Congre in the coming dates
Balaguer is a city full of tradition and this year celebrates Carnival with new features and adaptations to satisfy everyone.
The Carnival will take place on February 10 and 11, with a varied and exciting program of activities for all ages.
A free conger pot tasting in Plaça del Mercadal
The event will start on Saturday the 10th at noon, with a tasting of a traditional dish: the conger pot. This meal will be prepared by the Associació Dona Rural, which keeps alive this old recipe from Balaguerina.
Young and lively costume dance at the Molí de l’Esquerrà pavilion
From six in the afternoon until nine in the evening, the Molí de l’Esquerrà pavilion will become a space full of party and fun for young people. With the participation of dj’s Edgar Manchado and Hector Ortega from Flash FM, this dance will have contests, entertainment and many other surprises.
Night concert with local groups in the Molí de l’Esquerrà pavilion
From eleven o’clock at night, the Molí de l’Esquerrà pavilion will host an incredible Night Concert. Featuring local cover bands Ella and Jet Lag, and DJs Marsal Ventura and Nash, this concert promises to be an unforgettable musical experience. Don’t miss the individual, couple and group best costume contests during this evening show.
Rua Infantil del Congre: fun for the little ones
On Sunday morning, the streets of Balaguer will be filled with color and joy with the Rua Infantil del Congre. Starting on Calle Noguera Pallaresa and ending at Plaça del Mercadal, this street will include contests for floats, towed vehicles and troupe costumes. The entertainment show by Jorge de la Suerte will be the perfect end to this festive day.
In addition, the prizes for floats, towed vehicles and troupes have been increased for this edition, with the hope of encouraging public participation in this great celebration.
