On Friday, May 3, at four in the afternoon, the funeral mass will take place for priest Miquel dels Sants Gros i Pujol, priest of the Church of Vic and canon archivist and director of the Episcopal Library of Vic.
A life dedicated to ministry
Mr. Miquel dels Sants Gros was born in Vic on January 23, 1933 and was ordained a priest on March 17, 1956. During his long career, he served as vicar of the parish of Santa Maria de Navarcles and Sant Feliu de Torelló.
A prominent figure in Vic
Bishop Gros held several important positions in the diocese of Vic. He was spiritual director of the Minor Seminary and vice-rector and prefect of Theology of the Seminary. In addition, he was appointed director of the Episcopal Library and curator of the Episcopal Museum. He was also part of the Sacred Art Commission and the Sacred Liturgy Commission. He was appointed canon of the cathedral chapter and was later appointed canon archivist. Currently, he held the positions of canon archivist and director of the Episcopal Library of Vic.
A loss to the community
The death of Monsignor Gros has been communicated by the bishop of Vic, Romà Casanova, and the diocesan presbytery. All have been invited to join in prayer with a spirit of brotherhood in the mourning of the diocese and the relatives and friends of Monsignor Gros.
