The importance of political alliances
Jéssica Albiach, leader of the Commons, has been busy in recent days with a series of campaign events. During this morning, he met with representatives of CCOO and UGT, thus showing his support for the unions. He then took part in a press conference of the Catalan News Agency (ACN), where he highlighted the importance of political alliances to avoid a repeat election. Albiach has made it clear that his ‘allies’ are clear and he has asked ERC and PSC to come to an agreement to avoid this situation.
The desire to be part of the government
The Commons aim to be part of the government and work for the citizens. Jéssica Albiach has expressed her desire to negotiate her entry into a possible government of Salvador Illa. Albiach emphasized that, when the Commons are not in government, there are political forces that do not fulfill their promises. For this reason, he considers that the best way to do politics is to be in government.
The challenges of political alliances
The Commons are aware that their policies may be incompatible with those of the Socialists, especially on issues such as Hard Rock, the B-40 and airport expansion. However, Albiach did not want to specify which of these measures they would be willing to accept. On the other hand, he criticized that Salvador Illa presented himself as the useful vote and questioned his intention to agree with Junts.
Independence and the Process
Jéssica Albiach has questioned the idea that independence will end if the sovereignist parties do not gain a majority in Parliament. He emphasized that there will be people who will continue to work for independence, although he has detached this idea from the Process. Albiach considers that the Process is a specific era with milestones and a calendar, and that independence is a legitimate idea that can continue beyond the Process.
