A new team committed to the Balearic Islands

The candidate of El Pi-Proposta for the Balearic Islands in the European elections of June 9, Jordi Prunés, has today presented the group of people who will accompany him in the electoral campaign. This team is made up of young individuals, with political experience and a strong commitment to improving the situation in the Balearic Islands.

Under the motto ‘Let Europe bathe’, Prunés highlighted the importance of European action on issues such as saturation, the lack of housing, the energy transition and the challenges arising from insularity. It is in the European Parliament that the decisions that can solve these problems are taken.

Challenges for the Balearic Islands

Prunés pointed out the main challenges affecting the Balearic Islands and highlighted the need to take urgent measures. First of all, island overcrowding is a problem that needs to be stopped. Access to housing is increasingly difficult and the economy of the islands is conditioned by their geographical situation. Prunés urges Europe to be aware of this reality and to provide support to face these challenges.

A diverse team

Prunés has presented the people who will accompany him in this electoral adventure. Neus Serra, current General Secretary of FELIB, Gloria Ferrari, candidate for El Pi in Inca, and Josep Marquet, councilor for training in Pollença, are some of the outstanding members. In addition, the new president of El Pi Sa Pobla, Susana Rodríguez, and the culture councilor of Porreres, Maria Antònia Melià, are also part of the list. The representatives for Ibiza and Menorca are Joan Torres and Antoni Bosch, respectively. Also included in the list are Antònia Salas, Llorenç Sastre, Isabel Jaume and Biel Quetglas, from Joves per les Illes. Tomeu Gomila, from Manacor, and Catalina Barcelò, president of El Pi Palma, close the candidacy.

Europe as a key actor

Prunés has highlighted the importance of making people understand that Europe plays a fundamental role in the policies that affect the Balearic Islands. It is essential that Europe gets involved in solving problems such as saturation, the lack of housing or the improvement of agricultural policies. Prunés insists on the need for a specific agenda for the islands and on the importance of European action to face these challenges.

Jordi Prunés and his team are committed to working to achieve a better Europe for the Balearic Islands. With their political experience and enthusiasm, they aspire to make a difference and improve living conditions on the islands.
