Support of James Abascal to Israel

Santiago Abascal, leader of the Spanish Vox party, has met in Israel with Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister. During this meeting, Abascal expressed his commitment to revoke the recognition of the Palestinian State, recently made by the president of the Spanish government, Pedro Sánchez, if he came to power in Spain. Abascal expressed his maximum support for the people of Israel, recognizing their right to defend themselves, and stated that Pedro Sánchez does not represent Spain.

Abascal also pointed out that Pedro Sánchez’s recognition of the Palestinian state is an attempt to cover up cases of political and economic corruption. The meeting took place in the Prime Minister’s Office in Jerusalem and lasted more than an hour, as reported by Vox.

Netanyahu’s support for Spanish sovereignty

For his part, Netanyahu guaranteed his government’s support for the sovereignty of the Spanish nation. Furthermore, he affirmed that he will maintain aid and commitment in the anti-terrorist fight with Spain, despite the hostile policy of Pedro Sánchez’s government.

Netanyahu showed confidence that, if he comes to power in Spain, Abascal will reverse the hostile measures of the Sánchez government and the creation of the state of Palestine. He also reiterated support for the sovereignty of the Spanish nation and minimized opposition voices calling for support for separatists in Spain in retaliation for Sánchez’s actions.

Alliance between far-right parties

Netanyahu’s party, Likud, is an ally of the ECR Party, to which Vox belongs. This alliance translates into mutual support between both leaders, with the confidence that, if he reaches the Spanish government, Abascal will reverse the policies adopted by the Sánchez government.
